After previous leaders Ogier, Latvala and Meeke all crashed out, Neuville was able to score his and Hyundai's first win.

Last year's results was reversed as Neuville won and Sordo came second. His result also made Hyundai's maiden win a 1-2 result, one of few makes ever to do so.

Third VW driver Mikkelsen finished third and was the only VW to finish. Ogier crashed out on first day and again next day. Rally leader Latvala started final day with handsone lead but crashed.

Special mention goes to Elfyn Evans who not only scored his first stage win in WRC but did it on Power Stage.
