Oldest and most distinct one, WRC1 is easiest to recognize.
Roof air scoop This feature is most readily visible from all angles and is therefore perhaps the most useful way to identify WRC1 (pic 1).
Front grille Only visible from front though most pictures are taken from that angle. Main air intake lacks grille that later versions have and the intake shape is slightly different. Also note that front bumper is quite different from later versions (pic 3).
Bonnet Also visible in the same picture are unique airflow holes on WRC1 bonnet. One wide hole in front, just above "Castrol" and two parallel holes directly in front of the driver.

Very different from WRC1 but somewhat harder to distinguish from Evo3.
New roof air scoop Evo2 introduced new-style air scoop which is very different from that of Evo1. Unfortunately, both WRC2 and WRC3 use the same (pic 2).
Front grille Main air intake has gotten grille that WRC1 lacked. Also note that front bumper is quite different from first model (pic 4).
Bonnet Airflow holes in WRC2 bonnet are quite different from those of WRC1. Wide hole in front has been moved back close to windscreen and front has two, U-shaped holes that look like gills of a shark.

WRC3 is the longest running model of Accent range and very similar to WRC2. Fortunately there is easy way to recognise this model.
Front bumper If you compare WRC2 front bumper in picture above to new front bumper of WRC3, you will immediately notice the difference. Basics are the same but now radiator air intake is mirrored from WRC2 (pic 6).
Bonnet There are differences in bonnet too. Wide air intake in the back now has small Impreza-style lip and another wide hole has appeared between two gill-holes in front (pic 5).
