Championship points | Championship scoring changed back to a less complex scheme. Bonus points for separate Sunday-only classification and Power Stage remain, although Sunday points are now awarded to top five only (was top seven). Separate Saturday points scheme is dropped and traditional points for general classification make a welcome return instead.
General classication points:
1st = 25 pts 2nd = 17 pts 3rd = 15 pts 4th = 12 pts 5th = 10 pts 6th = 8 pts 7th = 6 pts 8th = 4 pts 9th = 2 pts 10th = 1 pt
Points for Sunday only:
1st = 5 pts 2nd = 4 pts 3rd = 3 pts 4th = 2 pts 5th = 1 pts
This points scheme is less complex than the one used for 2024 but has same aim, to reduce Sunday cruising. |
