After 1974's Rideau Lakes WRC stayed away from Canada for a few years until in 1977 a new foray was made, this time further to east at Quebec. Event was run for three consecutive years 1977-1979 and won every time by an established WRC drivers against respectable field of entries, mostly local ones.
