In the wake of long-running Argentina and more recent Chile, Paraguay joined WRC for the first time in 2025. It was fourth South American rally (Brazil being the one not yet mentioned, run twice in 1980's).
New rally with new character, it was expected to be on the faster side and Paraguay did deliver. Not as fast as fastest events on the calendar but almost, fastest stage in 2025 edition reaching over 130kph average speed.
Road surface was either gravel or clay-based, relatively hard and even on repeated stages no ruts formed. Sweeping effect was also quite small but when wet, clay-based roads were deceptively slipper as many drivers noted.
Stages mainly ran across countryside with farm roads. These were undulating, with lots of dips and crests which made cars light, even jumping and crews felt the continual compressions in their bodies. Tyres were under tremendous stress and despite relatively smooth surfaces, nearly all top-drivers suffered at least one puncture in 2025 edition.

Smooth and fast rally as seen here with M-Sport's McErlean cornering amongs fast farm country roads used in 2025.

Country roads were not only fast, but also undulating with plenty of dips and crests. Not so big jumps but cars were both light and off the ground, making going quite rough for the crews.

 |
Some forest stages also were used with quite similar road conditions but retaining more dampness.
