Supra is mentioned here only because of continuity. Following the ban on Group B, Toyota had only bad options available and Supra was chosen to represent Toyota in WRC until more suitable car would become available.
It was large, rear-wheel driven sports car designed to compete with Nissan's Z-series and exported in large quantities to USA. It was over four and half meter in length and several hundred kilos heavier than the opposition. Initially, this mass was powered by large but ineffective three liter injection engine giving out a little less than 300 hp. A turbo was added later but with only small intercooler available, this increased power output only modestly.
