There were relatively little changes in the 2000 version of 206WRC. Outwardly none but under skin there were some and most of those were quite important. Where the first evolution had mechanical rear differential, the 2000 version sported active diffs all around. Additional hydraulic work included changes in four-wheel drive with intent of making car more reliable.
Engine remained much the same but had new turbo and redesigned inlet manifold. These changes gave slightly increased power but most importantly meant wider rev band, boosting power especially in low revs.
