1972: Enters the Elf find-a-driver scheme – qualifies for the semi-finals.
Is Patrick TAMBAY's manager until the latter's debut in Formula 1 with Ferrari.
1978 - 1980: SIMCA
President of Simca Racing Team, the operation in charge of the marque's single
make championships and competitions.

1980 - 1984: Automobiles PEUGEOT. Founds Peugeot Talbot Sport with Jean TODT. World
Rally Champions in 1985 and 1986.
1982: Founds SODITEN, a company specialising in the marketing of car care products
under the Metal 5 brand. Company sold in 1999.
Cars entered in competition (racing, rallycross) in Metal 5 colours:
- 2nd, 1984 French Production Car Championship with Jean-Pierre Malcher
(Peugeot).
- 4th, 1985 French Production Car Championship with Jean-Pierre Malcher
(Peugeot).
- 1st, 1986 Chamonix 24 Hours ice race with Jean-Pierre Malcher (Citroën).
- 2nd, 1988 French Rallycross Championship (behind Guy Fréquelin) with Bruno
Saby (Lancia GpB).
Since 1984: Managing Director, Groupe de Presse Michel Hommell, a French leisure
magazine publishing group specialising in the automobile, cycling, music and
television.
1993 - 2003: Founds Automobiles Michel Hommell which produces 300 Hommell Berlinettes
for road and competition use.
