M-Sport's dry run came to an end as Tanak shot into lead after first stage - only to lose lead for a while. But after he regained it on SS5, he firmly held and extended the lead in leaps and bounds over second day. Teammate Loubet crashed out on SS3, but Tanak had no care for anything but a win and he duly did that. Only to announce leaving M-Sport shortly after the rally. Also in Hyundai there was just one finisher as Lappi crashed on first stage and Suninen crashed on penultimate SS15, having had avery good run until then. Neuville (pictured) had his traditional bad first day and had trailed Suninen all through the rally but was now elevated to second overall, which he had no trouble to hold as Toyotas concentrated on finishing. Elfyn Evans

Toyota made mistake by using soft tyres in Saturday morning which didn't last and cost two places for Evans (pictured) who suffered two delaminated tyres on SS9. But with opposition in shambles, Toyota had chance to secure manufacturers' title and with two good positions and power stage points team outscored opposition and lifted the crown for a third time running.
