Colin McRae - Charger of the young brigade
First part lays background, explaining who Colin McRae is (at this point many international readers may have been ignorant) and going through his early career. But majority of the interview is devoted to Colin himself telling about things like signing by Prodrive, Subaru Legacy and early sequantial gearbox technology from drivers point of view, first win in New Zealand 1993 and such.
Hannu Mikkola looks back
Rally Legend Hannu Mikkola interviewed in narrative style during his final WRC entry in 1993 Finland when he drove for Toyota, 18 years after he put TTE in map by winning the event in Toyota Corolla. Interview concentrates on how things have changed in the past 30 years, a point of view to which Hannu is one of the best to shed light to. Covered topics centre on cars, competition and events which all have changed a lot but also mentioned are commercial opportunities.
Making a winner - The Subaru Impreza 555 story
At the time of writing, Impreza was just a promise, not an rallying icon it would become. Yet, first event of the car was already behind with impressive 2nd overall to speak on it's behalf. It is no wonder Holmes gets interested and tells the story about development of Impreza. The technological solutions and features of the car, both alone and in comparison to Legacy, are described and attention focuses on then-radical active differential technology. From technology, article moves on to testing - explaining what was tested and how tests were performed - and finally on to first successful outing in 1000 Lakes 1993 where Vatanen finished 2nd overall.
