Ogier started as pre-event favourite, looking to score victory that evaded him a year ago. His only worry was fading hybrid on stage four but it was soon fixed. Toyota scored 1-2 with Rovanpera finishing in second place and could have scored 1-2-3 but Evans' puncture on SS5. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
Thierry Neuville

Neuville battled with Rovanpera for first half of the rally but in the end couldn't keep up with the new champion. When Evans punctured and dropped behind him, battle shifted to defend third place and this battle Neuville did win. Team-mates Sordo and Lappi weren't nowhere near in similar pace. Ott Tanak

M-Sport Ford fielded only two cars with new recruit Tanak (pictured) and Loubet. Tanak got his first taste of unreliability straight away as he had gear change problems on first stage and powersteering failed on SS10, condemning him to finish 5th overall. Loubet fared even worse, retiring on two occasions. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
