In the puncture fest, Toyota suffered most because they field most cars (five). Katsuta had puncture on SS10, Evans and Pajari on SS11, all dropping minutes. Ogier (pictured) took lead at the end of first day and held it until the end. At times he went well and seemed untouchable but he almost threw win away with half-spin and nearly crashing into a tree on Power Stage. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window

Two out of three Hyundais held lead at one point. Neuville led initially but hit a wall and lost wheel on SS5. Fourmaux led too but punctured on SS8 and then went off on SS11. Also Tanak (pictured) had small problems, damaged damper on SS6 and slow puncture on SS9. Despite this, he battled past Rovanpera and almost claimed win after Ogier's foundering on PS. Gregoire Munster

M-Sport cars sunk to new lows, all hitting problems on SS2. McErlean lost wheel and retired for the day. Sesks rolled and did not even restart. Munster (pictured) damaged suspension and although he completed the stage, he retired before SS3. This carnage resulted massive time penalties and sweeping the road on next two days, leaving them well down in the order by the end of the rally.
