Volkswagen got new winner. While Ogier was sidelined by fuel pump failure in first day, Latvala upped his game and shot into lead after Novikov's problems.

At Citroen, Hirvonen's steering problems left Dani Sordo to defend marque's colors which he did well. Instead of trying to challenge Latvala, he settled for second and good points.
