Solberg started and pressed on with speed which had seen him go off in several previous rallies. This time he held it together until the end despite Evans' brave early attempts and Ogier's late pressure to grab the lead from him. Massive points haul and Evans' late hour puncture elevated Oliver back in position to challenge for championship.

Fourmaux cemented his place as fastest Hyundai driver once again. He was fast and consistent from the word go whereas Lappi struggled to make any times and Neuville crashed heavily on second morning. Fourmaux lost position to Ogier but gained one from Evans, finishing on podium once again.

McErlean had his share of trouble, of the few punctures he picked one on second day and ran straight at junction on final day, losing front bumper and associated aero. Even so, he finished whereas team-mate Armstrong had retired (but rejoined) after crash on SS8.
