Original version is one-of-a-kind and easy to recognise from later models.
Rear wing
Distinct styling makes rear wing the best recognition feature (pic 1).
Front bumper
Horizontal support bar divides intercooler air intake in two parts and is unique to Focus WRC (pic 2). Air vents on sides of the bumper, just front of the wheels, are set lower than in later models.
Bonnet
Air extraction vents on bonnet are uncovered. This is not easy to spot and may vary from build to build so do not rely on this as definite recognition feature.

Rear wing
Move to less visible but still prominent feature, new lip-style rear wing sets WRC 00 apart from the earlier model (pic 3).
Front bumper
Horizontal divider from earlier model is gone, intercooler air intake is now one big hole with crossed support tubes clearly visible in front of the cooling tubing (pic 4). Air vents on the sides, front of the wheels, have been moved upwards from the bottom of the spoiler (see how Michelin stickers have changed place).
Bonnet
Air extraction vents are now covered with fine mesh. Also, it is noteworthy that main lights have slightly different configuration, sporting black plastic pieces at back.

Front bumper
Vertical holes from the sides of the bumper, immediately front of the wheels, have been removed (pic 5).

Bonnet
Air vents on bonnet change considerably. Vent on left retains it's place but changes shape, vent on right is smaller in size and without covering grille and third transverse vent is added between the two (pic 6).
Air scoop
New, bigger air scoop is introduced in Rally Deutschland (pic 6).
Turn indicator light
Deleted from bumper as it is now incorporated on headlights. Dark paint-scheme on works cars makes this hard to note.

Radically new, this one is easy to tell apart from it's precessors.

Very similar to it's immediate precessor, the '03 model.

Based on new road car, hence looks entirely different than any previous Focus WRC.

Extremely similar to WRC06, the only visual difference is the modified rear wing with fewer vertical vanes (two instead of previous four, see pics 7 and 8).
