Thierry Neuville

Neuville's title chances were slimmest of the trio and he desperately needed to win and set out to do exactly that. He took the lead in second day and kept it until the end. As it was, he couldn't do anything about Tanak finishing second so despite winning the rally he lost the title. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
Ott Tanak

Tanak concentrated solely on the title, making sure he kept his nose clean and scored sure points. That is, until the last stage where he unleashed stunning time, not only scoring decisive PS win but also overtaking Sordo for 2nd overall, either of which alone would have made sure of the title. Elfyn Evans

Fords of Evans (pictured) and Suninen were reliable but unspectacular, being overshadowed by the focus on title fight. Evans was faster of the two but with surprisingly small margin. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
Sebastien Ogier
(Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window)
Ogier's title chances evaporated on a rare mechanical gremlin on first day which left him with no power steering. He dropped so far back that he had nothing to fight for, so remains of the rally was unmotivated drive to finish for him. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
