Neuville was fastest Hyundai all through the rally, his teammate Sordo being able to claim stage wins only in last day when Thierry relaxed in the lead. Final day saw some drama as Thierry's i20 WRC refused to start on regroup before PS and it had to be pushed before growling to life amidst small flames from exhaust. Evans (pictured) wanted very much to win to keep his title hopes against Ogier alive. Luckily for Elfyn, Ogier struggled and presented little opposition whereas Neuville went past to lead and win. Nevertheless, Elfyn kept pressure on and even though he was only second overall, he managed to outscore Ogier even on Power Stage, thus reducing the gap in championship.
