During first day's gravel stages Ogier pulled a good lead and was able to control his pace over next two days, keeping Latvala in bay and securing his second world title.

Hirvonen's third place was his only second podium finish of the season but considerably strengthened his grip on fourth place in the championship.

Fastest Citroen was Kris Meeke but due to his shunt in first day, Ostberg was left to salvage points for the team and finished fourth.

Hyundais suffered from chronic understeer and though fast, weren't really able to push for maximum result. Sordo was fastest of them in his home round.
