Ogier grabbed lead with superb time on SS3 but lost it on next when he was careful with cuts. After he regained lead on SS5, Ogier didn't let it go of it anymore. Even though his lead wasn't particularly large at any point, rally was so fast and differences so small that even small lead seemed sufficient. And so it was that Ogier won his first rally in his partial 2022 campaign. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
Thierry Neuville

Even though Neuville led after SS4, he was then left trailing both Ogier and Rovanpera, fighting with the latter throughout the second day. Neuville gained second from the Finn on final stage of the day, Salou Super Special and after that Rovanpera no longer offered a challenge. Neuville therefore finished second overall. M-Sport fielded four cars all of which suffered various problems, except Fourmaux (pictured) who subsequently was best placed of team's entries. Greensmith fared worst, he wont off and blocked SS11. Breen suffered a puncture and had chronic understeer while Loubet knocked tyre off rim on SS3. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
