Even winners
It was not just Toyota and Lancia that scored equal amount of wins but lead drivers of both teams, Kankkunen and Sainz, did that too.
Not so with podiums
Juha and Carlos scored as many podium finishes too but in this category Lancia outscored Toyota by 20 to 11 podiums respectively.
Finishes and not
Kankkunen retired only once, Sainz three times. Besides that, there was no major differences between points scoring positions of the two drivers.
In stages
Despite win and podium statistics being so equal between Juha and Carlos, spaniard won twice as many and led for twice as many stages as the eventual champion.
Events
Once again, 1000 Lakes was fastest rally and Monte Carlo, RAC Rally and 1000 Lakes attracted most entries. Longest stages were held in Corsica and shortest in New Zealand.
