Wins
Lancia was again head and shoulders above all other teams but it won 'only' seven events, three less than in previous year. Biasion still won five of those, stamping his authority within the team.
Perfect record
Out of six rallies he entered, Miki won five and scored points in every single one. Although it is not a perfect record, he could have won also the sixth one, it was perfect enough from championship point of view.

The challenge
Things take a whole a new perspective if judged by stage wins and leaders. Toyota's speed is evident from the fact that Kankkunen and Sainz scored more stage wins than Biasion and Auriol. Similar trend is apparent from lead statistics.
