Hirvonen was promised opportunity to challenge Loeb without team orders. Try as he might, Loeb was still faster and won the event Mikko clearly wanted to claim as his own.

Latvala tried but couldn't find the speed nor any explanation for the lack of it. Even tyre gazing didn't help.

Chris Atkinson was back in action driving Citroen of Qatar WRT. Unfortunaly his rally was spoiled by misheard note and subsequent off.
