One for each
It was not until Brazil, eight event of the season, before same driver and make won for a second time. All seven previous events had had different winners, all even in different cars.
quattro supremacy
Audi and Mikkola were in a class of their own, winning more stages and leading rallies for more stages than anyone. Unfortunately reliability was not at same level, allowing only two wins for Hannu and three for Audi.
Tiny Brazil
New addition to championship, Brazil, had smallest entry of 20 cars. On the other extreme was again Monte Carlo, attracting over thirteen times as many entries. Interestingly it was Argentina that was fastest event this year instead of the usual 1000 Lakes.
